Message from the former President of the Auckland Tibetan Association:- Wangdue Tsering
Tibetans don't have anything to do with him. He started showing up at our protests a couple of years ago.He approacned me for a letter of support when | was the President saying the same thing about his father being a military leader in Lhasa and Tibet sympathiser. He seemed a little suspicious and I didn't buy his story so we did not issue anv letter. There are as you know many Chinese infiltration attempts into the Tibetan community. I think he was using us for asylum purposes and l heard he also frequents Tibetan Buddhist Centres to become a known face and in
nopes he would be able to take aavantage of the Tibet situation. This not uncommon and manv nationa ities have done that in Australia, United States and Canada to get asylum
His actions reflect nim as a person. as an individua.lt has no bearings on the six milion Tibetans whose sentiments are bound with the flag. We are a smal community in New Zealand but an active one and the Tibetan National flag being plastered in the Herald twice with a committed murderer has hurt our
sentiments deeply. The person is not even Tibetan and we doubt his stories about the Lhasa protests are real.
We are just being used as a means to an end.Our cause is a joke to people like him.
This person has taken advantage of something that's very important to the Tibetan people and used it to further his own selfish motive of gaining asylum in New Zealand. This is a slap in the face to all the
genuine asylum seekers. We were shocked to learn that someone who was in our midst on a few occasions, pretending to be a Tibet sympathiser is a convicted killer. He doesn't care about Tibet, he cares about himself and he found a human rights agenda to hide behind so he could gain asylum. He used us as a pawr and tried to fool lmmigration. We are the victims here and he has toved with our emotions. He is nothing but a fraud. He has dragged our name through the mud, calling himself 'from Tibet' when I doubt he has even been to Lhasa
request Tibetans around the world to be more vigilant and to everyone else, if you don't support our cause, at least refrain from dragging it through mud

Message from the President of the Auckland Tibetan Association
am the president of the Auckland Tibetan Association(ATA) committee in Auckland,New Zealand, and my name is Nvandak Rishul. In response to the news that was reported in the NZ Herald on Sunday morning regarding the usage of the Tibetan National Flag by a person going by the name of Leo Li without oun
knowledge or agreement, I am writing this on behalf of the Tibetan residents of Auckland and the larger Aotearoa region.
Mr. Leo Li has recently begun attending nonviolent
protests and gatherings without being invited. Since Mr Li is not a Tibetan and we have no knowledge of his past or present activities, we have no relationship with him for whatever reason. We predicated him and his behaviour. He was probably one of the Tibetan causes sympathisers, we assumed. lf we had been aware of his past and his deeds, we would have prevented him from participating in community activities
All Tibetans living in New Zealand and around the world are horrified and filled with sadness to see oul most respected and revered fag flying alongside a murderer who isn't even Tibetan.
